This course offers an alternation of theoretical courses led by specialists from each discipline, practical work and clinical case studies.

Objectives

  1. Deepen knowledge of wound care in oncology
  2. Know how to manage a chronic wound in all its aspects (medical, surgical, psychological).

At the end of the course, learners will be able to :

  • Understand the mechanisms of wound healing
  • Recognize the risk factors for delayed healing and the specificities of oncology.
  • Prevent wounds resulting from anti-cancer treatments (radiotherapy)
  • Improve clinical reasoning
  • Distinguish and recognize different dressings and their uses
  • How to apply compression bandages and negative pressure treatment
  • The importance of multidisciplinary work and communication between doctors, surgeons and nurses
  • Know the legal framework for practice

Discussion & Workshops

This training course is based on active participation with:

  • theoretical input and practical exercises
  • case studies and practical work

At the start of the course, each participant will receive a training manual.

Exam & Evaluation

During the course, trainees sign an attendance sheet for each half-day of face-to-face training, and receive a certificate of attendance by e-mail at the end of the course.
An "on-the-spot" satisfaction survey is carried out on the last day of training. The results are analyzed and reported to the training's pedagogical council.
