So, You Want to Become a PI?

What you need to know to prepare your search for PI positions in academia

Some of you, mostly postdocs but not only, may be considering starting your own research group, and are getting ready to apply for PI positions. Would you like to know more about the process of searching for PI positions in academia and get tips and advice from scientists who went through the process?

Then join this one-hour session proposing an informal discussion over lunch with PIs from the Institut Curie. They will present a general overview of the “scouting for PI positions in academia” process and share their personal experience of applying for such positions. This will be followed by a Q&A session.

(Please note: for those who wish to go further, a second part of this course is organized in November 2024, where you can sumbit a draft of you application and crash-test it with a mock panel composed of PIs from Insitut Curie).
