Institut Curie has many Alumni who have done their master, PhD or post-doc at the institute, and who have afterwards proceeded to follow a range of career paths. We would like to introduce you to some of them.
Cell biology, cell migration and invasion, cytoskeleton
Lecturers and participants will be both physicists and biologists. Conferences will be in English. Each day will include five one hour lectures plus participant presentations.
The general objective of this course is to understand the role of the cytoskeleton in cell migration and invasion at different levels: molecular, cellular and in the living organism. The course will cover general mechanism of cell migration in 2D and 3D substrates; different modes of migration such as single and collective cell migration; and it will provide the examples of normal cell migration during tissue morphogenesis and invasion migration of cancer cells.
Each participant will give a 15 minute oral presentation of his/her work (maximum 3 power point slides).
Successful completion of the course can count toward training hours (3ECTS or 20 hours) for French graduate schools such as "Complexité du Vivant" and "Frontières du Vivant" or 6 ECTS at Master program UPMC at Paris 6.
