ENROLLMENT CONDITIONS FOR INSTITUT CURIE TRAINING WEBSITE
The following enrollment conditions apply to any online enrollment via the training website of the Institut Curie www.training.curie.fr.
1/ Presentation of the Various Types of Courses Provided by the Institut Curie
Described below are types of courses available at the Institut Curie through its Training Unit:
1.1    International courses: Scientific conferences on their research topics organized by Institut Curie's research units.
For: Students, pre/postdoc graduates, researchers and physicians, etc interested in the subject-matter to be dealt with, and Institut Curie staff – on a first-come first-seated basis. See particulars of the course.
1.2    “Career Development” courses: On cutting-edge techniques used at the Institut Curie (introduction to mass spectrometry, Image J), and a researcher/physician/professional's cross-area skills (how to write a scientific paper, intellectual property, patents). It includes also career development workshops.
For: Chiefly Institut Curie staff – on a first-come first-seated basis. See particulars of the course.
1.3    Medical & paramedical courses are organized by Hospital teams, according to several contexts: medical school students training, diploma, in partnership with universities or continuous professional training for residents, medical doctors or other care professionals. These lectures are delivered either by Institut Curie members or by invited third parties. 
For: Institut Curie staff; medical students, interns/holders of a ‘DES' (specialized study diploma) who attend accredited colleges of medicine, general practitioners/ specialists. Paramedical courses: psychologists, pharmacists, students of nursing care, registered nurses, medical physicists, X-ray therapy or imaging technicians, physical therapists and other hospital workers.
2/ Terms of Enrollment
2.1    Enrollment Procedure
Each applicant should register on the training website of the Institut Curie in the first place.
He/she is then required to fill in the enrollment form accessible through the web page setting forth the particulars of the course he/she wishes to take.
The Training Unit will only review properly filled-in forms.
It is each applicant's responsibility to provide evidence in support of his/her belonging to one of the groups of persons for whom such course is intended, as mentioned in the particulars of the course.
Registrations per email are not accepted.
2.2    Selection Procedure
*  General
Enrolling for a course does not automatically imply admittance to that course.
*  Selection for International Courses
Following application for an international course, the applicant may either be:
- accepted,
whereupon he/she will receive an email to be answered favorably within 15 days. If no answer is given by this deadline, the Training Unit reserves the right to let in another applicant in his/her stead; or
- rejected,
whereupon he/she will be notified accordingly by email, or
- waitlisted,
whereupon he/she will be notified accordingly by email. In the event of withdrawal of an applicant who had been admitted, the Training Unit reserves the right to approach the waitlisted applicant again with an offer to attend that course. He/she will then have 15 days within which to answer favorably.
Applications for international courses are reviewed by a Selection Committee for each course.
Following review of applications, emails are sent to all applicants to inform them of their situation within the time frame specified in the particulars of the course.
*  Selection for “career development” Courses
Applicants for core courses may be either admitted or rejected. In both cases, they will be notified by email. If an admitted applicant withdraws, then the Training Unit may choose to approach a previously rejected applicant again.
Applications for “career development” courses are mostly selected in order of receipt, subject to availability. They are deemed received when the file is complete.
Emails are sent to all applicants to inform them of their situation within the time frame specified in the particulars of the course.
*  Selection for Medical & Paramedical Courses
Applicants for medical/paramedical courses may be admitted or rejected. In both cases, they will be notified by email. If an admitted applicant withdraws, then the Training Unit may choose to approach a previously rejected applicant again.
For university degrees, the applicant must be a student at the relevant university.
Enrollment applications for a course are selected in order of receipt at the Institut Curie, subject to availability.
Some courses are provided to specific groups of persons, selected following review of the applications.
For continuous training courses: Enrollment consent following return of completed and signed agreements with the organization.
Emails are sent to all applicants to inform them of their situation within the time frame specified in the particulars of the course.
3/ Covenants by Course Takers
3.1    Those admitted to an Institut Curie course covenant and agree as follows:
- Not to give their specific logins and related passwords to another person;
- To provide correct information in website forms;
- To attend the course(s);
- To do the work requested for the course(s) and be assiduous participants– to read their emails regularly so as to keep up-to-date on all information relating to the course(s);
- Not to reuse out of their professional environment or to alter the media and contents of courses attended by them;
- To bear traveling and accommodation costs incurred in connection with the course(s) (see particulars of the course); and
- To treat confidentially any information brought to their knowledge during or as a result of medical & paramedical courses attended by them.
Applicants agree to use materials made available to them on the training website of the Institut Curie solely for professional purposes, as part of Training Unit courses.
Any applicant who has been selected agrees, where there is a charge for courses, to pay the consideration requested by the Institut Curie on the terms and conditions set forth pursuant to the General Conditions of Sale.
3.2    Assignment of Rights
Any person enrolling for an Institut Curie course consents to Institut Curie using free of charge the contents of any documents produced by him/her in such context by way of illustration of courses provided by the Institut Curie, on the training website of the Institut Curie, on any media and in any formats whatsoever, in whole or in part, for a period of five (5) years as of the date on which enrollment is confirmed.
3.3    Right to the Image
Any person admitted to a course provided by the Institut Curie authorizes the Institut Curie to photograph, film, record him/her on the training premises (lecture hall, arena and the like) or while classes are in progress, and permits the Institut Curie, free of charge, to use such shots of his/her image, partly or wholly for educational purposes, on any media, in particular on the training website of the Institut Curie, and in any formats whatsoever, for a period of five (5) years as of the date on which his/her enrollment for such course is confirmed.
Those authorizations are given by the applicant in consideration for his/her interest in training at the Institut Curie, and no remuneration may be payable therefor.
An applicant who is not desirous of so assigning his/her copyright and image should notify the Institut Curie accordingly in writing, by means of a letter sent to it at the following address: Institut Curie - Cellule Enseignement - 26 rue d'Ulm - 75005 Paris, France.
4/ Practical Terms
It is the applicant's responsibility to make arrangements for his/her accommodation and meals, so as to be able to attend the courses for which he/she has enrolled.

6/ Covenants by the Institut Curie
6.1    Delivery of Courses
The Institut Curie covenants and agrees to exert its best efforts to deliver courses offered on its website on the dates, at the times and in the locations mentioned.
Courses will as a rule take place on the Institut Curie premises in Paris, Orsay or Saint-Cloud, France, unless otherwise specified (see particulars of the course). If necessary, the Institut Curie reserves the right to choose another location for the course. In such case, applicants will be notified by email.
6.2    Conditions of Withdrawal from and Cancellation of Courses
Any applicant is allowed a period of time to withdraw from attending courses offered by the Institut Curie, subject to so informing the Institut Curie not later than one month prior to the start of the relevant course.
Where a course is cancelled, applicants will be notified accordingly by email. There will be no refund of costs incurred in relation to that course.
6.3    Certificate of Attendance
Issuance by the Training Unit of a certificate of attendance at an applicant's request is subject to a control of attendance implemented for every training session.
It is each applicant's responsibility to check with his/her university whether the course provided by the Institut Curie can be regarded as part of his/her college education and a source of ECTS credits.
7/ User Account
The Institut Curie reserves the right to disable a user account in the circumstances below:
*  in case of failure to comply with these enrollment conditions;
*  if a user has not confirmed his/her login within a month of a request for verification of the user's email address.
The Institut Curie reserves the right to later on solicit persons who attended its courses.
