Workshop “Informed decision-making: a case for Open Science and critical thinking skills”

As scientists, we’d like to base our professional and private decisions on facts. We collect and evaluate data to design meaningful experiments or to choose the next career step. But, how informed are our decisions, really?

In a series of interactive exercises, we’ll reflect on our professional decision-making practices in the light of the current scientific system and explore ways to improve them. In that context, this workshop will establish what Open Science is and why it is needed. The main areas of Open Science: Open Access, Open Data and Public Engagement will be introduced, alongside with tips for how to incorporate them into your daily work.
