Objectives

What is an elevator pitch and how it can be useful for engage your audience?
o learn story telling techniques that make complex concepts, easy to understand
o experiment with different delivery styles to gain confidence
o learn about poise and appropriate body language

Exam & Evaluation

• Each workshop is followed by a debrief to consolidate learning
• Learning is validated during each workshop based on active participation and improvement in presentation skills during the various workshops

Priority will be granted to PhD students who will give an elevator speech at the next Graduation Ceremony.

Amy Whereat BSc, UNSW, MMkt MGSM, Australia is a specialised communications consultant in medical research. Before creating her company, she had a successful career in clinical research and medical affairs within the pharmaceutical industry. As a scientific storyteller, she supports her clients in their publications, international symposia and medical expert boards. Amy particularly enjoys training researchers to write manuscripts and conduct scientific presentations with impact.
Her areas of medical expertise include Oncology, Cardiology, and Dermatology. Amy is Australian, bilingual (French & English), and has been based in Paris for over 20 years. She is also an active member of EMWA and is passionate about raising the profile and quality of medical writing.
