Joint Course on Post Transcriptional Gene Regulation and Genome Instability

The study of the mutual interactions between the DNA damage response and RNA metabolism represents an emerging/growing field of research.

Two international Curie courses (“5th Course on Post-transcriptional gene regulation” and “3rd Course on Genome integrity and human diseases”) will exceptionally join their efforts in 2021 to provide the background on post-transcriptional gene regulation and maintenance of genome stability from mechanistic studies to omics-based approaches. You can check the program for more information.

This edition will take place in real-time virtual format (GMT+1). Participation is free of charge and participants are selected by the scientific committee (check below the documents needed for application).

Objectives

The goal of the "post-transcriptional gene regulation" course is to promote the study of post-transcriptional regulations, from molecular mechanisms to genome-wide networks (using RNA-Seq, PolyA-Seq, CLIP- Seq, Ribosome profiling, etc.).

The field of post-transcriptional regulations has greatly expanded these last years, especially in relation to cancer, epigenetics and “omics” studies. Thus, this course is of interest for many groups at Institut Curie and IBENS, and is complementary to other Curie international courses (e.g. epigenetics, genetic instability, noncoding genome).

In 2021, we have decided to join the 5th Edition of the "post-transcriptional gene regulation " course with the 3rd edition of the "genome integrity and human disease" course, which was planned to happen in April, 2020 and was cancelled following sanitary mesures.

The "genome integrity and human disease" course objective is to introduce students to basic mechanisms contributing to the maintenance of genome stability from molecular mechanisms up to omics approaches.

Moreover, the study of the mutual interactions between the DNA damage response and RNA metabolism represents an emerging/growing field of research.

This course in sponsored by Société francaise du Cancer.
