Developmental Biology

From stem cells to morphogenesis – 16th edition

The aim of the program is to provide the participants a comprehensive coverage of the paradigms, problems and technologies of modern Developmental Biology paying particular attention to stem cells.

Training in theoretical and experimental aspects of normal and abnormal development is developed through a variety of embryonic systems using state-of-the-art instrumentation and methodology.

The program is proposed in two versions (more information available soon) so there will be two registration deadlines:

Long version (3,5 weeks including a 2-week practical workshop, at Sorbonne University & 10-day Seminars at Institut Curie) : July 20th

Short Version (10 days, Seminars at Institut Curie): September 5th

Important information: A first selection step will take place in July so we recommend applicants that might need to make a Visa request to enter France to apply by July 20th (Paris Time) and to mention that situation in your motivation statement, so that we can include your application in the first selection process.

More Information

Objectives

The objective is to expose the students to the recent concepts developed in Developmental Biology by highlighting their important contribution to the stem cell field and clinical sciences. Various domains of the Developmental Biology field are addressed in relation to stem cells, not only across the variety of embryonic models but also across the diversity of approaches (large-scale and translational approaches, mathematical modeling, biophysical approaches…)

Practical Information

Practical classes dates will take place at on the Pierre and Marie Curie campus of Sorbonne University ( 9 quai Saint-Bernard - Building B ).

Seminars  will take place at Institut Curie, building BDD.

Short Version (10 days): comprises only the seminars at Institut Curie.

The evaluation for the validation of 6 credits given by Sorbonne Université is limited to 30 students.
